Our Story

Quite simply, love and respect are what we’re going for at The Nest. Our staff, product, farmers, customers, and community mean everything to us. And while that makes us feel all warm and nice, we also truly believe that a happy, respected staff, and sourcing product from thoughtful, caring producers is the key to a great restaurant.

We let the ingredients speak for themselves. Our food is simple yet intentional – comfortable yet exciting – judicious yet interesting.

Full disclosure? We’re not from Vermont. Chefs Wiggy and Justin are from New Jersey. They’re friends from culinary school in Rhode Island. Throw in some Vermont, Colombia, The Dominican Republic, and some south shore of Boston, and that’s our little team!

With that being said, boy do we love it here. The abundance of interesting people excited to be doing interesting things is infectious. On Mondays and Tuesdays, you can find us visiting our farmer friends, hiking, skiing, fishing, foraging, hunting, tending to our garden and chickens, taking a quick dip in a swimming hole, or enjoying live music.

We’re happy to be here and proud to call Vermont home. The relationships we’ve made with the land, farmers, bakers, other food producers, and greater community has inspired a passion to learn about and contribute to this special place.

Visit Us

First off, you can see Mount Mansfield from the dining room. Pick a book, order a coffee and some flapjacks, sit by the fire in our A-frame dining room, and watch the snow fall. It’s great!

In the summer, mornings on the deck, next to the garden, watching the fog break on The Green Mountains is the definition of serenity.

Being in Stowe is a blessing. We love our community. Our farmers, producers, and neighbors are the core of what we do.

The Nest is located at the Golden Eagle Resort which has 88 guest rooms and indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Catering and room blocks can be booked and planned through the Golden Eagle Resort. We have a growing collection of pre-planned menus to choose from, but Chef Wiggy would be happy to collaborate with you to accommodate off-menu requests. Please reach out to us for additional info.

Private Events

The Nest would be honored to make your special occasion delicious. And what better way than to reserve our restaurant, complete with dedicated staff, for the evening. We are able to large groups, small private parties, partial dining room buyouts or full buyouts of the entire restaurant. Whether it be a BBQ wedding, Grandma’s 80th birthday lasagna party, taco Tuesday with all your friends, or a night of burgers, drinks, and salsa music, we’re the place. Our Chefs will meet with you to curate an experience personal to you and your guests. We have lots of menus we love but are happy to create something one-of-a-kind for your special event.
